The HORSES HELPING HEROES Project equine-assisted activities are held in Smithfield, Virginia.




Classes are held from 11:00 a.m. ~ 2:00 p.m. (includes lunch)
Onsite volunteers are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m. to help set up the facility

The HHHProject staff and volunteers once again hosted this event at Richmond's Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center in December. Throughout the year, volunteers collected, purchased, and handmade small holiday decorations appropriate for display in the private and semi-private patient rooms in the CLC. Invitations were delivered to each resident of the CLC inviting them to the dining room to select the decorations of their choice for display in their rooms. Family members frequently accompanied their relatives and assisted in the selection and decorating process. For those veterans who were unable to make it to the dining room, a team of cheery elves delivered a variety of decorations to their rooms. There was no better way to spread holiday cheer!!!
